💧 Media and Chemicals Used for Water Purification Systems

1. Anthracite

It is used for surface filtration in water filtration systems. Its low density makes it effective in removing sediment and suspended solids from the upper layer. It is particularly preferred in multi-layer filter systems.

2. Activated Carbon

It is used to remove organic matter, chlorine, odor, taste impurities, and certain chemical compounds. Activated carbon, derived from coconut shells, provides strong adsorption thanks to its high surface area.

3. Resin

It is used in water softening systems. It removes limescale and reduces hardness by replacing calcium (Ca²⁺) and magnesium (Mg²⁺) ions with sodium (Na⁺) ions.

4. Dolomite (Dolostone)

It is used to balance the pH level of water and neutralize its acidity. It also helps retain some heavy metals in water.

5. Salt Tablets

Used for resin regeneration in water softening systems. Contains high-purity sodium chloride and has high solubility.

6. Quartz Sand

It's the most commonly used layer in filtration systems. It's used to retain suspended particles and eliminate turbidity. It's available in a variety of particle sizes.

7. Chlorine Powder

It is used for water disinfection. It effectively kills bacteria and microorganisms, ensuring safe water. It is particularly effective in pretreatment and tank hygiene.

8. Mixbed

Used in the production of demineralized water. It is a blend of cation and anion exchange resins. It is preferred in applications requiring pure water quality, especially in laboratories and industrial processes.

9. Antiscalant

It is used to prevent lime and mineral buildup on the membrane surface in reverse osmosis (RO) systems. It increases system efficiency and extends membrane life.

10. Siliphos

It prevents the formation of lime, rust, and corrosion in pipes and system equipment. It is especially used to protect metal pipes in drinking water lines.
