This technology plays a critical role in many industrial and domestic applications, such as reducing water hardness, removing ionic contaminants, and achieving high-purity water.<\/p><hr data-start=\"491\" data-end=\"494\" \/><h3 data-start=\"496\" data-end=\"526\">\ud83d\udfe6 Water Softening Systems<\/h3><p data-start=\"528\" data-end=\"914\"><strong data-start=\"528\" data-end=\"555\">Water softening systems<\/strong>It&#039;s based on the principle of removing calcium (Ca\u00b2\u207a) and magnesium (Mg\u00b2\u207a) ions, which cause hardness in water, using sodium-based cationic resins. This process is accomplished through ion exchange. As hard water is passed through an ion exchange resin bed, the Ca\u00b2\u207a and Mg\u00b2\u207a ions are replaced by sodium (Na\u207a) ions in the resin, thus softening the water.<\/p><p data-start=\"916\" data-end=\"1183\">Over time, the resin surface becomes saturated with Ca\u00b2\u207a and Mg\u00b2\u207a ions.
